Holders Chelsea assured of top-two finish

Holders Chelsea confirmed their place in the knockout stage with victory against Dynamo Kyiv, while there were sizeable wins for Lyon, Roma and Valencia.

Group E
Barcelona 2-0 BATE
Barcelona moved to the top of the section thanks to goals from Carles Aleñá, who also struck when the teams met in Belarus a fortnight ago. The Spanish side, who won the inaugural UEFA Youth League, in 2013/14, will be assured of at least a top-two finish if they beat Roma on matchday five.

Highlights: Roma 5-1 Leverkusen

Roma 5-1 Leverkusen
Two Christian D'Urso strikes book-ended a substantial win for Roma against the side that started the day top of Group E. Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq was the star man inbetween, two angled first-half strikes – both laid on by Ezequiel Ponce – followed by a rebound tucked away to complete his hat-trick on 57 minutes.

Group F
Bayern München 1-1 Arsenal
Mario Götze was among the spectators as Bayern picked up their first point. He will have initially liked what he saw as Fabian Benko put the German side ahead early on with a shot in off a post. Ismael Bennacer, given his senior debut in the English League Cup last week, levelled six minutes before the break. Section leaders Arsenal squandered the chance to lead at the interval, however, when Ben Sheaf fired over from the spot.

Olympiacos 1-3 Dinamo Zagreb
The Croatian side created a three-point cushion in second place in Group F with an assured display in Piraeus, taking a second-minute lead through Ivan Božić's clinical finish after home goalkeeper Iason Gavalas had blocked Matija Fintić's shot. Gavalas was beaten again ten minutes later, parrying a Fintić free-kick only for Amer Gojak to snap up the rebound. Dinamo keeper Dario Miškić was eventually beaten by Kostas Megaritis in the 56th minute, but a swift counterattack five minutes from time was finished by Gojak to complete an impressive win.

Highlights: Chelsea 3-1 Dynamo Kyiv

Group G
Chelsea 3-1 Dynamo Kyiv
The holders are assured of a place in the knockout stage, although they were pushed hard by Dynamo, who equalised 45 seconds after the restart when Olexiy Schcebetun punished a mistake by centre-back Joseph Colley. Tammy Abraham headed in Chelsea's second just before the hour and wrapped things up in added time after being teed up for a tap-in by the scorer of the Blues' first, Miro Muheim.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv 1-2 Porto
Porto strikers Michael Morais and Rui Pedro did the damage in the first half with close-range goals, leaving Maccabi winless after four games and out of contention for a top-two finish. Tomer Altman pulled one back for the Israeli side with a left-footed shot a minute before the break, while Eylon Almog and Or Dasa had efforts blocked after the restart. Porto substitute Madi Queta struck the woodwork late on.

The Valencia lineup before kick-off

Group H
Gent 0-4 Valencia
Valencia, 5-1 winners in the reverse fixture, recorded another sizeable victory against their Belgian opponents. Ismael Martinez started the scoring, dispossessing Gent keeper Tanguy Segers as he attempted to dribble past the midfielder. Rafael Mir then scored twice, both goals set up by Fran Villalba, before Álvaro Gómez Martín drove in the fourth.

Lyon 6-0 Zenit
Christopher Martins opened the scoring inside the first 60 seconds as the hosts turned tables on a Zenit side that beat them 3-1 a fortnight ago in spectacular fashion. It was 4-0 by the break as Lyon ran riot, and the second half was more of the same even if they had only two goals to show for it, Gaëtan Perrin's second of the game included. The French outfit need just a point from their last two games to guarantee progress.
