State of play
Confirmed in round of 16: Chelsea
Confirmed at least in play-offs: Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Benfica, Atlético Madrid, Manchester City, Lyon, Valencia
Domestic Champions path winners: Midtjylland, Salzburg, Middlesbrough, Příbram, IF Elfsborg, Ajax, Celtic, Servette/Anderlecht*
*Play on 2 & 6 December
Shakhtar Donetsk 2-6 Real Madrid
A Cristian Cedrés hat-trick and two goals by Borja Mayoral gave Madrid a comfortable victory that ends Shakhtar's qualifying hopes. Knowing a win could lift them to second place, Shakhtar pushed hard but had no answer to Madrid's fluency.
Malmö 0-3 Paris
That result meant Malmö had to take something from this game while an away success would ensure Paris's progress. In the event the visitors prevailed and sit one point clear of Madrid, who are now also through. Yakou Meïté, with a screamer, and Roli Pereira De Sa scored in the first 19 minutes before Odsonne Edouard's clincher at the end of a more even second period.
CSKA Moskva 1-2 Wolfsburg
Wolfsburg boosted their chances with victory at leaders CSKA, who could have clinched a last-16 spot with three points. Anton-Leander Donkor and Leandro Putaro struck before the break and although Konstantin Kuchaev pulled one back on 55 minutes, CSKA's Timur Zhamaletdinov then missed a penalty after being brought down by Hassan El-Saleh.
Manchester United 0-5 PSV Eindhoven
PSV moved to within a point of CSKA, level with Wolfsburg and two clear of United, after an emphatic triumph that outdid the Manchester club's 3-0 away win in the Netherlands. There were five different scorers for PSV, who know a victory at home to CSKA on 8 December would at least guarantee a play-off; United have to beat Wolfsburg and hope the Dutch side do not pick up maximum points.
Astana 0-5 Benfica
A fifth straight win raised the already qualified Eagles' record goal tally for a four-team UEFA club competition group to 28, though only José Gomes's strike separated these rivals at half-time. The No9 made it 2-0 from the spot after Chingizkhan Assylkhanuly handled in the box, the latter's subsquent own goal increasing the deficit before substitute Ricardo Araujo notched twice – one finish following a mazy dribble through the Astana defence.

Atlético Madrid 4-0 Galatasaray
Atlético comfortably rubber-stamped a knockout place, with Roberto Nuñez's stoppage-time effort taking his competition-leading tallies to nine for the season and 15 in his career. They needed 32 minutes to make their dominance tell with a long-range drive from Toni Moya, not long after the visitors' Buğracan Kırmızıtaş had hit the woodwork. Ferni and Moya then scored early in the second half. Atlético must win at Benfica by any score other than 1-0 or 2-1 on 8 December to pip their hosts to top spot and a round of 16 berth without the need for a play-off.

Juventus 2-1 Manchester City
Juve stopped City clinching the group and remain in contention after Sevilla conceded a late equaliser in the other match. The Bianconeri were fortunate to finish the first half 1-0 up against the run of play, yet played better in the second period, defending well to frustrate City and scoring again, through Grigoris Kastanos, the Cypriot international capping a man-of-the-match performance with both goals. Thierry Ambrose nodded in Aaron Nemane's cross to set up a grandstand finish. City will still win the group with a point at home to Mönchengladbach on 8 December.

Mönchengladbach 2-2 Sevilla
Sevilla were heading into at least the play-offs when Borussia levelled in injury time. The Andalusians had gone two up through Francisco Sánchez and José María Amo but after Dennis Eckert pulled one back and visiting substitute Víctor Manuel was sent off, Tsiy-William Ndenge equalised on 89 minutes to do Juve a favour – even though Mönchengladbach went out due to the Italians' victory. Sevilla will still pip Juve to the play-offs with a point when they meet in Spain on 8 December. To beat City to first place and the round of 16, Sevilla need to win and hope the English club lose.
